     All of the silk scarves and pillows I create are One-of-a-Kind and Hand-Painted using the age old techniques of batik and serti. Both are forms of painting on fabric using resists such as wax, and paints or dyes to achieve different color effects.

     The processes have many steps of alternating applications of resist and paints, and are followed by setting and washing each piece. Each piece is individual. Sometimes the paint or dyes drip, spot, or run.  This adds to the individual character and beauty of each piece. No two are exactly alike. 

                                                                  Silk Scarves

     My One-of-a-Kind and Hand-Painted silk scarves are painted on 100% silk. Silk is a luxurious, beautiful, and utilitarian natural fiber. 

     The painting techniques used are age old batik and serti. Both are forms of painting using resists and dyes to achieve different effects. The process has many steps to include the following:

alternating applications of resists and dye; setting of the dye; removal of the resist; and rinsing.

     Each piece is designed by me and hand-painted individually. Drips and bleeds are often unavoidable and add to the character and individuality of each piece. 

     The images here are a few examples of the many scarves I have created. No two are exactly alike and none can be replicated exactly. I am constantly updating and creating new designs with new patterns, colorways, and techniques.

                                    One-of-a-Kind Hand-Painted Silk Pillows

       My silk throw pillows are a beautiful addition to any space. Floral and natural elements compliment the batik and serti techniques used to create these One-of-a-Kind and Hand-Painted pillows. I used several different  processes to  create these pillows. Each process allows me to explore the traits of each subject and design element and to portray it in the best way possible.

     If you are looking for unique accent pieces to add beauty and individuality to your environment, these are the ticket!

     The pillows shown on this page are samples of collections of which there are many more to choose from. Choosing by color or flower are ways to decide how you want to accent your space. The full color pillows are created in several different background hues and can be mixed or matched. 

 I paint standard sizes 16 x 16 inches or 18 x 18 inches square. The pillow forms I use at the present are poly fiber fill. All are hand and machine washable.

     As with my scarves, there are always new patterns, designs, and colors forth coming as nature is a constant inspiration for new ideas!!! Also as with my scarves, drips, spots and runs are sometimes unavoidable and add to the One-of-a-Kind and Hand-Painted unique quality and character of each piece.
